Yeah, I took a stand and well.....it's pretty mediocre. Oddly I don't blame Ratner. I blame the lame ass script and the need to either kill off or neuter every character in an arbitrary need to end the "trilogy." Why? You can make a dozen of these fucking movies. Oh, but we need a Wolverine movie....yeah, jut just do both. Works for Marvel. Posted by Picasa

I think you're right about the film. The script did suck. But Ratner is no Brian Singer, either.

I think one of the most frustrating things for me when it comes to movies adapted from comic books is Hollywood's apparent need to change established storylines. I totally understand that certain changes have to be made for a comic to translate well to the big screen, but I've yet to see Hollywood versions of storylines that are any better than the original comic book version.

The Xmen movies, while good in and of themselves, suffer from this terribly. The cast of the Xmen is totally messed up chronologically from the comics. Why? Is there a good reason for Angel, Ice Man, Rogue, and Collosus to be younger than Storm, Jean Grey, and Cyclops? And why completely change characters like Deathstrike and Mystique?

The Hulk was the other one that pissed me off in this regard. Besides Ang Lee's crappy artistic take on the film, they totally changed the origin of the Hulk, the character of Bruce's father, and Betty Ross. WTF?

That's my rant. I expect Superman to be no better for a lot of the same reasons--plus the blue tights.
